Minerva Barnes Miller – Pioneer Homemaker

Minerva Barnes Miller, a young pioneer wife and homemaker in early Dallas, TX, is presented by Ms. Cat Kreder, local needle artist, historian and teacher.  Stories about Minerva’s life, her family, her community and the socially changing climate of early pioneer Dallas, Texas, and the United States are woven together in the daily activities of  homemaker, mother, wife, and needle worker.  

Along with Minerva’s stories, Cat presents insights and how to’s into older needlework crafts and the emerging women’s movement as it affected the social condition of the pioneer homemaker. Continuing craft project activities and an expanded reading list accompany this program
